As a child, Phyllis was familiar with moving around with her family and making new friends because her father was in the Air Force. She was born in Lincoln Nebraska and her family moved to Hackensack, NJ when she was 8 years old. As a child she was always quiet and reserved. God was not always talked about in her home during her childhood but when she would hear His name or attend the Sunday School she was sent to, she sensed that God was really real. But in her heart, she was not sure how to relate to Him.

When in her teenage years she joined a church together with her mother and really started to learn more of who God was and His love for them through Jesus Christ. Phyllis’ love for others grew more and more and she decided that the Nursing Profession would suit her best in being able to help others and share the love of God!

But… one evening, several years back while traveling home from work and pregnant with her middle child (27 years to be exact) something very unusual happened. Out of nowhere she found herself repeating lines that just popped into her head! When she repeated them again out loud, they rhymed and actually sounded like a “Rap Song!” In total shock and amazement, she knew this had to be from God! Why? Because never, in her wildest dreams had she ever thought about being a Rap Artist! But, from that moment on she knew something else was being birthed in her as well and her journey as Poet began!
As time moved on, she was led to join Christian International Church. It is there where she found the Love of God and the Truth and Power of His Word in the Holy Bible to be real. And that has ministered to her heart, mind and spirit immensely. Much of what has been written and appears in this first book came from the love and inspiration received from her time there. Our God is so Amazing and He has a unique journey for each and every one of us!! Believe that!!

Thanking God that He has added another layer to the fabric of who He has created her to be as a new creation in Christ! Phyllis believes that God Our Father wants to use the gems of poetry and all its brilliant facets as an instrument of drawing others closer to Him through His Son Jesus Christ. Phyllis seeks to keep the eyes and the ears of her heart open for whatever the Lord may be saying and writing it down for His Kingdom and the Light of His Glory!

So… stay tuned! God willing, there may be more books on the horizon!!
Phyllis is married to Eugene Jr. and they have three amazing adult children: Jason, Jackie and Gene III.

I had so much to say about your work of art and of love, but I had to keep on making it shorter so that the publisher would not run out of time.
Phyllis, I am so proud of you!! You have always inspired me and have been my very own role model. I thank you for being wonderful you and Phyllis, I love you with all my heart.
"I recently finished reading "PRESS ON For All That Matters" a book written by Phyllis E. Marshall. This book was a very easy read treasure. Once I began to read it, I could not put it down until I finished it in its entirety. This little huge book is extremely pertinent to the times we are living. I enjoyed the simplicity of this writer and to the on point knowledge base of the subject matter. I found that this book was a real wake up call for all of us.
Particularly, I enjoyed the whimsical poetic ways the author delivered her messages, capturing my attention even more. The author was firm when the subject called for assertion, yet; it also gave me hope for full redemption if I truly commit to living my life the way the Good Lord intended, as written in the scriptures.
The author clearly points out that it is easy to deviate from the ways of our Lord and that in spite of the freedom He gave to us to chose, it is only through love and faith, through prayer, through insight and following the lessons learned, that are the only ways we can be victorious in earning our salvation.
Sadly, our world is so corrupt from head to toes. We see and hear so many horrible things that people do and the scary occurrences happening all over the world and according to the scriptures. For all those reasons, this book is so poignant. As for me, this sweet book will be held within reach as a reference guide, as a comfort food for my spirit and as a constant reminder to keep focused on the big prize and to always Press On For All That Matters.
I look forward to other books written by this great author."
